This pic took me a while to finish. Done on Painter 9 and Photoshop CS. This is one of my new painting style, more realism as you can see. And its quite difficult to do.
This is Sobek the crocodile egipcian god, creator of the nile, son of Neit. Lord of the water and the people were afraid of his Fierceness.
This is an anthro version of this god, and as you may know he was represented as a human with a crocos head or simply a crocodile. And this god is supposed to have a crown, that I didnt do, because Im lazy.
I hope you like it.
A little quiz: What is the difference between a Crocodile and an alligator?

That is one brilliant piece of work! The love how you managed to give his skin a rough, wrinkly texture to it - gives it a sense of realism. Dare I say that's probably the best anthro croc I've seen in a while.
Oh and alligators tend to be more placid (and I think they're more tolerable of colder climates), while crocs are more aggressive and tend to grow larger.

Wow this guy is impressive, a very thick and massive croc man! Very nicely done as well, excelent coloring and detail! Wonderful textures! Really an excelent piece, it shows that you took your time. I think this illustration would fit wonderfully in an rpg book of some sort, his little fantasy pieces of armor, very few but still cool, his axe, and just the really classic style of artistry!
*Agrees with the masses*
Quite realistic indeed (like most of your other pictures). You step away from the more common cel-shading style and go towards what the eye would really see. And ya' make so many tiny additions! *Has to squint hard to make out the little wrinkles of color that are the tell-tale sign of shading/texture*
It all blends so nicely together, it makes for a rather fetching picture. Stout little crocodilian, though, ain't he? ^_^
One question: does Sobek normally posess an axe, or was that your creativity adding in a detail? Its presence does lend itself to noticing the god more, in any case.

Thank you very much. And I`m very glad that you like this style, althought is kind of hard to make, but anyway, I really have fun on pics like this one.
About your question, a weapon on that character is to make him more personal, I could have add him a Hammer, or a aegyptian god crown. Its a personal choice, so I added him a big weapon like an axe (he would look strange with a common sword)
