A lot of the humour is subtle and coming from the artist. The facial expressions, themes, allusions to other cartoons (Anyone notice that your next door neighbour on the minimap is the Simpson's house?)
The artist for this game is extremely talented not just in making lewd content but in lighting, perspective and easter egging.
The plot / writing is.. serviceable.. but really is elevated by the artist IMO. The dialogue and plot itself is kinda shit but the art elevates it into something far more.
The gameplay though.. is chaotic.
Actually, I will say the gameplay is a bit of a mess. It's clear that a lot of the gameplay ideas got started and stopped then died on the cutting room floor. The full four directional exploration is largely unused entirely, there is no real exploration in this game. The "needs" system of eating food / sleeping again seems almost wedged in then abandoned. Even the mechanics of going to the biker bar, circus, etc and grinding out events feels weird.. It could work in concept I think but the way its done feels really poorly implemented.
This game likely started as a open world sim game then became a battle card "raid game".
Their hogwarts game lives into that design far more where they've abandoned a lot of these features that don't really make sense at all. Which is a shame. I would of loved Lewd knight as a more open world simulation game experience but that was likely too ambitious to do.
